A Springdale man faced animal cruelty and abuse charges after police found two dogs living in deplorable conditions on Rosslyn Avenue on July 29, officials said the dogs were not let outside with one suffering a severe neck injury—additional charges may be filed.

Today, the Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation awarded scholarships totaling $60,000 to 22 local students, including 10 high school graduates from Pittsburgh Public Schools and Allegheny County who received the 2025 Penguins Foundation Scholarships.
