Pittsburgh Regional Transit began ticketing drivers in downtown bus lanes this weekend and said that bright red lanes on Fifth, Liberty and Sixth avenues are reserved for buses and emergency vehicles only.

Officials said drivers face a $25 citation (with additional fees that may raise fines near $200) and urged motorists to heed lane markings.
