About this event
As robots take on more work in the field, the safety of the people working alongside them becomes increasingly important. Innovation Works’ SAFER AG CREATE Summit: https://innovationworks-49632253.hs-sites.com/create-safer-ag-summit brings agriculture leaders and robotics innovators together to tackle real challenges in deploying autonomous equipment, from safety testing to workforce training.
Format: In-person, team-based workshos Startups, researchers, entrepreneurs, and roboticists working in this space are encouraged to apply for the two-day workshop, which is free for accepted participants.
Who Should Apply to Attend At no cost... - Academic researchers working on agricultural robotics, AI, or safety - Roboticists and robotics engineers building autonomous ag systems, or systems that can be applied to autonomous ag systems. What the Workshop Includes The SAFER AG CREATE Summit is a two-day, in-person working session at CMU’s Jared L. Cohon University Center, hosted in partnership with the University of Illinois Center for Digital Agriculture, that convenes farm operators, academic researchers, industry leaders, robotics entrepreneurs, and government partners to work through what's missing.
Across the two days, participants move from hearing industry experts frame real-world challenges and share a picture of the risk landscape, to working through a particular challenge areas (described below) in an effort to develop ideas that can solve the presented challenges and become concrete solutions.
Challenge Areas
- Safety Validation & Grower Readiness ⇢ How do we validate the safety of autonomous systems under real field conditions, and what does a grower actually need to trust and safely operate one? - Workforce Development & Training ⇢ How do we train and prepare the workforce, from operators to technicians, for a farm that increasingly runs on autonomous systems? Cost ⇢ Free for Accepted startups, researchers, entrepreneurs, and roboticists who commit to participating in the full two-day (November 9-10) event. Note: The last day of the conference (November 11) includes Continuing Education Training. If you wish to obtain Continuing Education Credits, you will have to register separately through the official registration portal.
