- ➤ On Tuesday morning, the Allegheny County Sheriff's Office gave away poinsettias outside the county courthouse to spread holiday cheer (flowers donated by Bob’s Market and Greenhouse in the Strip District). WPXI
- ➤ Fox Chapel Area School District students held their 36th annual telethon on Dec. 23, raising $101,001 after anonymous donors matched up to $50,000 in donations. The funds will benefit Fox Families Care to help local children and families in need. WPXI
- ➤ Clairton City School District students received $50 grocery gift cards during the holidays from the Will Allen Foundation (founded by a former Steelers safety) and Eden Hall Foundation to support families over winter break at Produce Marketplace. The Tribune-Review

- ➤ The CDC is investigating a Salmonella outbreak linked to raw oysters that has sickened 10 people in Pennsylvania, while 64 cases with 20 hospitalizations have been reported nationwide. Officials caution that cooking oysters lowers the risk of food poisoning. WPXI
