- ➤ WTAE Channel 4 is celebrating the 40th annual Project Bundle-Up telethon that began in 1986 when meteorologist Joe DeNardo raised over $50,000 from a $30,000 goal + the event continues today to help keep kids and seniors warm through community donations and volunteer support. WTAE
- ➤ Joe Manganiello and Caitlin O’Connor have moved back to Pittsburgh after years in Hollywood. The couple, active at local events, got engaged earlier this year and brought Manganiello’s chihuahua (Bubbles) with them, though they have not set a wedding date. KDKA
- ➤ Jennifer Petrie, a clinical trials manager at Pitt’s Department of Medicine, described multiple near misses at Atwood St and Fifth Ave during a CUPS meeting, urging immediate pedestrian safety improvements. - ➤ Pitt launched Claude for Education as an optional AI tool for faculty and staff to foster critical thinking and support teaching. Faculty training begins next week with a Claude 101 webinar (10 a.m., Friday, Dec. 12) as part of a rollout with Anthropic and AWS. University Times
- ➤ Pitt’s Healthy Home Laboratory, housed in an old Oakland Avenue home, tests new technology to make houses more accessible for older people.
