  • Millvale's Grant Bar, a restaurant that has served the community for 90 years, will close on Nov. 29 after its owners decided to end operations. Mayor Brian Spoales said the venue — a cherished gathering spot for local families — will be remembered as a pillar of our borough’s history.  WPXI
  • Khara Timsina, a founding member of the Bhutanese Community Association of Pittsburgh, helps new arrivals learn English and register to vote. The organization has helped 95% of its members become citizens and aims to expand its services—beginning with a community center—soon.  PennLive

CULTURE NEWS

  • Thousands gathered downtown Pittsburgh on Saturday for Light Up Night. The event started the holiday season with tree and bridge lightings, fireworks and live music—one tree was lit by a 10 year old cancer survivor.  WTAE
