ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Two families were forced out of their home on Steuben Street in the West End after part of the basement foundation collapsed—police said the damage was not visible from the outside and the Red Cross assisted the displaced residents.  WPXI

BUSINESS NEWS

  • An Eat'n Park on southbound McKnight Road in Ross Township will close on Dec. 1 after 46 years in business, with affected workers offered transfers to a nearby location that will remain open. It is unclear why the restaurant is closing—no further details have been provided.  WTAE

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Carnegie Mellon University raised $2.5 billion in a historic fundraising campaign—breaking its previous record from a drive that raised over $1 billion—twelve years ago. The university plans to use the funds for research and academic projects in Pittsburgh.  Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Officials at Pittsburgh International Airport said they will update the collage behind the iconic Franco Harris statue (developed with the Heinz History Center) to show the correct clock timing before the extra point (and adjust other details) after concerns emerged when the new terminal opened.  WPXI

HEALTH NEWS

  • Health inspectors issued a consumer alert at Masala House Indian Bistro in Shadyside on Wednesday after finding roaches, mice, droppings, and other sanitation issues in the kitchen — the restaurant must fix these problems by the next inspection in 10 days or it will be ordered closed.  WPXI

  • Steelers running back Jaylen Warren, who missed most of the Bengals game with a slight ankle injury, fully practiced on Friday and was cleared to play against the Bears today—coach Mike Tomlin said holding him out for a short time was a smart move as the team prepares for tougher matchups.   PennLive
