The food bank distributed 53 million meals across eleven counties last fiscal year — a record high after a five million meal increase. WTAE

HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ A University of Pittsburgh lab led by scientist Graham Hatfull has developed synthetic phages—viruses made from scratch—to kill tough bacteria that cause bad infections. The method, which will be published in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences later this week, may help design endless new ways to treat these germs. The Tribune-Review

- ➤ ESPN will broadcast College GameDay live from the North Shore from 9 a.m. to noon later this week as No. 24 Pitt (7–2) takes on No. 10 Notre Dame (7–2) in the Panthers' big game.
