  • Pittsburgh Chef Frank Vitale and his wife are preparing 500 Thanksgiving meals at Cucina Vitale Restaurant in their new Foster Plaza location—an effort aimed at supporting families in need this holiday season. GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Veterans rallied in Pittsburgh on November 8th to protect the VA from proposed cuts, with organizers saying many veterans are struggling amid furloughs and SNAP benefit reductions (a sign of intense concern over essential services).  WPXI
  • City officials closed the Muriel Street and 15th Street intersection in the South Side Flats after a routine catch basin replacement uncovered a void beneath the road. Officials said the closure would last a week and advised drivers to use East Carson Street.  WPXI

SPORTS NEWS

  • The Steelers will be without four key players for the Chargers game as guard Isaac Seumalo is ruled out after leaving Sunday's Colts game with a pectoral injury (linebacker Cole Holcomb, receiver Scotty Miller and safety Jabrill Peppers are also sidelined).  PennLive
  • Steelers safety Jabrill Peppers will miss his second straight game due to a quad injury that first appeared last week, and the team plans to have Chuck Clark return today against the Los Angeles Chargers.  WPXI
