  • Allegheny RiverTrail Park held the grand opening of its new Nature Play Space on Saturday, Oct. 11+ with a ribbon-cutting led by State Senator Lindsey Williams. The event featured local food vendors, live music, and family-friendly activities that encourage creative play.  WPXI
  • Visitors toured Pittsburgh International Airport’s new terminal during an open house event today—officials said the preview highlighted modern amenities and improvements.  WPXI
  • The 31st annual Pumpkinfest took place on Oct. 11 at Allegheny Commons East Park on Pittsburgh’s Northside, offering a day full of fall activities for families and children 12 and under. The event featured a petting zoo, pumpkin decorating, hayrides, pony rides, live music, games and crafts — along with a Health and Wellness Fair that provided families with tips on healthy choices.  WPXI

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Multiple off-duty 911 dispatchers and a tow operator saved two lives by pulling drivers from burning vehicles following a crash in Allegheny County on Saturday—fire officials arrived shortly after and the rescued individuals were taken to a local hospital for treatment.  WTAE

  • Tonight the Penguins will honor longtime usher David Blackburn at PPG Paints Arena during their game against the Rangers to recognize over six decades of service.  CBS Pittsburgh
  • Pittsburgh Steelers signed wide receiver Ke’Shawn Williams to the active roster ahead of their game against the Cleveland Browns today—he took first team practice reps this week and will likely serve as the punt returner while preparing to replace Calvin Austin III.  PennLive
  • The Browns named rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders as Dillon Gabriel’s backup ahead of the Steelers game — his limited college film will be reexamined if Gabriel is injured while Bailey Zappe stays on the practice squad per league rules.  PennLive
  • Jalen Ramsey, who was listed as questionable with a hamstring strain but fully participated in practice on Friday, is set to play against the Cleveland Browns today despite concerns about his usual snap count. His inclusion means the Steelers will have a complete defensive lineup—leaving Brandin Echols ready for potential extra duties.  PennLive
  • On Saturday, Pitt upset No. 25 Florida State (34-31) as freshman quarterback Mason Heintschel threw for 321 yards and redshirt senior Desmond Reid, back from injury, caught eight passes for 155 yards and two touchdowns.
