- ➤ On Saturday evening, about 100 demonstrators gathered at Schenley Plaza and marched down Forbes to Chancellor Joan Gabel’s residence to show solidarity with Palestine. Speakers from groups like SJP and the Pittsburgh Palestine Coalition led chants and called for the university to change its investments in weapons manufacturers—this protest came after a UN commission report and the federal judge’s decision to reinstate the club. - ➤ Honor Flight Pittsburgh took many local veterans from World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War on a trip to Washington, D.C.—they visited memorials and were welcomed home by a group from Northway Christian Community Church wearing red, white and blue. - ➤ Teacher Andy Potocki from Erie had a tumor in his jaw and his doctor at UPMC used a 3D-printed model for a jaw-in-a-day surgery in May that rebuilt his jaw with a piece of his leg bone. - ➤ Minnesota Vikings starting left guard Donovan Jackson will miss the game against the Steelers after undergoing wrist surgery Monday, so he is headed to short-term injured reserve.
