- ➤ Authorities say James Russell Kahl and Carly Kahl were arrested in Redstone Township for allegedly locking five children aged 5 to 14 in a filthy room—described as a dungeon—with boarded-up windows, feces on walls, fleas, and scant food and clothing. WTAE
- ➤ Pennsylvania State Police are searching for 9-year-old Renesmay Eutsey, who was last seen at 2 a.m. on Wednesday in the 100 block of 3rd Street in Dunbar Borough, Fayette County—she is considered at special risk of harm. WTAE
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Allegheny Regional Asset District launched a free online ticketing platform that gives Allegheny County library cardholders free or discounted access to cultural attractions in Pittsburgh—such as the Symphony, Ballet Theatre, Opera and Public Theater. RAD communication manager James Santelli said the platform offers family-friendly events and will add more organizations in the coming months. WTAE
- ➤ This weekend in Pittsburgh brings many events—starting with Ukrainian storytelling at Carnegie Coffee Co. tonight and a fun Britsburgh Week featuring trivia and local ales, followed by art fairs, film and theater shows, polo matches, and renaissance, taco and community festivals that offer free food and local music. - ➤ VisitPITTSBURGH is launching its PGH Insiders tourism program—local residents with strong Yinzer expertise can showcase Pittsburgh's attractions as ambassadors. - ➤ PennDOT has released its Alternative F plan — it aims to rebuild and improve the Parkway East interchange at the Squirrel Hill Tunnel. CBS Pittsburgh
- ➤ PennDOT District 11—partnering with the Federal Highway Association—announced Alternative F as its favored design for the I-376 Parkway East Squirrel Hill Interchange project to ease congestion and enhance safety for 100,000 daily vehicles. Construction will begin in 2029 and finish in 2032 as public feedback continues through planned meetings and an online comment form. WPXI
