ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ William W. Miller is suing the city for negligence after his wife was fatally struck by a falling branch from a tulip tree—she was watching their daughter play softball at Renziehausen Park on July 24 and Miller seeks damages for emotional and financial losses. The Tribune-Review
- ➤ One person died after a late-night motorcycle crash in Clairton on the 500 block of State Street just before 10 p.m. on Friday when his motorcycle hit a telephone pole (no other vehicles were involved) and Allegheny County Police are investigating the incident. CBS Pittsburgh
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ On Aug. 23, the Roberto Clemente Bridge became a vibrant hub for art and unity as community advocate Ebtehal Badawi led live art installations, performances, food trucks, and vendors — including a school mascot race. The event brought people together and celebrated Pittsburgh's culture. WPXI

- ➤ PennDOT announced that beginning on Monday the lower deck of the Fort Duquesne Bridge will be closed from 9 p.m. until 5 a.m. through late February (this may affect late-night travel). CBS Pittsburgh

- ➤ Valley High School senior defensive back Josh Dunlap was airlifted to UPMC Children’s Hospital after injuring his neck on the final play of the season opener last Friday — he suffered a severe concussion. - ➤ The Pittsburgh Steelers cut their 91-man preseason roster to 80 players and completed final cuts to a 53-man active roster by 4 p.m. on Tuesday, April 22.
