- ➤ Police investigated a social media video from August 13 that showed individuals attaching mice to fireworks with duct tape and igniting them—resulting in the animals being killed on the 410 block of Mt. Pleasant Road in Northview while evidence was gathered and a search warrant executed with one person taken into custody on unrelated charges. WTAE
- ➤ Pittsburgh Police are investigating videos from last Wednesday that show someone taping mice to fireworks with duct tape and igniting them to kill the animals, and a man was arrested on unrelated charges from the 410 block of Mt. Pleasant Road + detectives gathered tape, fireworks remnants and CCTV footage while questioning witnesses. KDKA

- ➤ After decades of delays, ALCOSAN has opened bids for a wastewater project that will build a 3.8-mile tunnel under the Allegheny and Ohio rivers — a phase costing about $800 million and set to start early next year. HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ Doctors and first responders warn that a new drug mix called Flysky—linked to rising overdoses—is affecting residents in Pittsburgh, Allegheny, Butler and Fayette counties. UPMC expert Dr. Mohamed Hagahmed said medetomidine combined with fentanyl and heroin does not respond to Narcan and withdrawal can lead to severe symptoms. WTAE
