ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A fatal explosion at U.S. Steel’s Clairton Coke Works last week killed two workers and injured 10 — the incident has raised doubts about the plant’s future even as Nippon Steel promises strong support and investment.  PublicSource

  • Victoria said she was attacked after the Jason Aldean concert on August 9 in a Star Lake parking lot—she suffered a broken jaw, busted ribs, and a concussion and will miss work while she recovers for about five weeks.  KDKA
  • An 18-year-old is facing charges after a deadly shooting at an Ellsworth home+ officials say the killing stemmed from a love triangle.  WPXI

CULTURE NEWS

  • Carey Auctions announced an exclusive online auction that offers local collectors a chance to bid on authentic movie props from the film Hershey, which was shot across Western Pennsylvania. A special in-person preview is scheduled for Aug. 24 from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. at the Carey Auctions facility in Blairsville—this is the only time to view the items before online bidding ends.  WTAE

  • Roman Wilson impressed during training camp and boosted the Steelers' confidence—team officials said they will sign another receiver soon to add more depth.  Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
