ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ U.S. Steel said it found a possible cause for a fatal explosion at its Clairton plant near Pittsburgh that killed two workers during a routine maintenance task on Monday, and it is reviewing video footage and interviewing employees as its investigation remains in the early stages. PennLive

- ➤ A pedestrian died after being struck by a vehicle early Saturday in Pittsburgh’s Uptown area at the intersection of Vine Street and Fifth Avenue in the Bluff neighborhood—officers detained the driver and investigations suggest alcohol may have been a factor. WPXI

- ➤ National Aviary will launch its fall theme 'Forests Presented by Peoples' on Sept. 3 — featuring autumn decor, daily activities, expert talks and themed habitats inspired by mythical forests and tropical rainforests. Visitors will enjoy special shows like the daily Fantastical Eagle Meet and Greet and interactive play areas during open hours from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. except on Tuesdays after Sept. 1. WPXI
