ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A man lost control of his motorcycle on East Carson Street near Arlington Avenue in Pittsburgh's South Side shortly after 3 a.m. due to a leaking front tire and not wearing a helmet, and he was taken by ambulance to a hospital in critical condition although police later said he is stable (no other vehicles were involved) (the incident is under early investigation by Pittsburgh Public Safety). - ➤ A deadly fire broke out early today on Mike Reed Drive in South Park Township when Broughton Volunteer Fire Department responded to a call with reported entrapment and found a person dead in the home — Allegheny County police and the fire marshal are investigating the cause. WTAE

- ➤ A couple in New Castle is facing over 70 charges after police discovered dead animal carcasses and nearly a dozen neglected dogs in their home — charges related to animal cruelty and neglect. CBS Pittsburgh
- ➤ On Friday at 4:18 p.m., police said an 18-year-old man from Pittsburgh was accused after a 10-month-old baby suffered a brain bleed and severe injuries when he hit the child multiple times while caring for him; the baby was rushed to UPMC Children’s Hospital and may not survive—homicide charges are expected to be filed. - ➤ Today, a special hearing on the Student Achievement Center is held at 5 p.m. at the district’s administration building at 341 S. Bellefield Avenue — on Tuesday, hearings will address Montessori PreK-5 at 5 p.m. and Morrow PreK-8 at 7 p.m. The plan may close 12 schools and reconfigure grade levels in 10 schools, with closures beginning in June 2026.
