On July 10, Pitt approved its $3.28 billion 2026-27 budget featuring tuition hikes and 2% raises for non-union employees set for September paychecks; union-represented workers remain in contract negotiations plus funds are reallocated for campus priorities including housing expansion and infrastructure upkeep.

After Monday’s budget approval, Pitt maintained its base funding at $151.5 million and $3.98 million for rural outreach while sharing $10 million in performance-based funds with Penn State and Temple.

The university plans contingency measures if it receives less performance funding per its set metrics.
