ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Six people were hospitalized and several others injured when a crash occurred on I-79 in South Strabane Township on Friday, July 4th, and police are investigating the incident.  WPXI

  • In 2025, the Pittsburgh region has a record 10 Fortune 500 companies — led by PNC Financial Services Group at No. 131 — marking the highest count since Fortune added nonindustrial firms in 1995.  WPXI
  • Kiya Tomlin, wife of Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin, was honored this week with the 2025 Best Women’s Clothing Boutique award for her work in the local fashion industry—she grew her business from a home studio into a well-known boutique in Etna.  PennLive

CRIME NEWS

  • A man riding an e-bike was shot in his left knee and his bike caught fire on the 1300 block of Grotto Street in the Lincoln-Lemington-Belmar neighborhood on Thursday evening — he was taken to a local hospital in stable condition and declined to offer further details.  WPXI
  • Police reported that a man was shot at a bus stop in Swissvale on Friday at the 2100 block of Waverly Street—he was taken to a hospital in stable condition and no arrests have been made.  WPXI

SPORTS NEWS

  • Bill Zonnon, a Montreal-raised forward drafted 22nd overall by the Penguins, began his development camp with a mix of swagger and humility — showing his lifelong passion for hockey.  Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
  • Reports indicated that the Steelers expected T.J. Watt to accept their best offer in contract talks that needed to clear hurdles over guaranteed money and salary + NFL Network analyst Tom Pelissero projected his deal would surpass Myles Garrett's $40 million per year contract.  PennLive
  • Steelers rookie offensive lineman Gareth Warren was added to the exclusive negotiation list for the Edmonton Elks in the CFL, and he remains with the Steelers. If he is cut, the Elks will have first rights to negotiate his contract—Warren said his agent informed him of the interest before he joined the team.  PennLive
