- ➤ Furry Land Mobile Grooming launched in Pittsburgh to bring home pet grooming; the service, operated by Pete Rosato and Megan Ellis, offered haircuts, nail trimming, ear cleaning + spa treatments to help cats and dogs look their best. This new branch expands the company’s reach from over 70 locations nationwide since it began in 2017. WPXI
- ➤ Almost 5,000 Giant Eagle union workers approved a new four-year contract with 94% support that secures wage increases— the deal approved on June 23 will set new wages and benefits for workers. The agreement is expected to guide worker compensation over the coming years. WPXI

- ➤ Gunfire broke out at a Pittsburgh basketball court—leaving at least 4 people shot and nearly a dozen injured. WPXI
- ➤ Authorities are searching for Damon Deemer who allegedly broke into the Forest Hills Police Department Friday at 6:45 p.m. with a loaded magazine and made terroristic threats over the phone before his vehicle was towed after a car crash Sunday in Allegheny County—tips should be reported to the state police. - ➤ Raymond Saunders, a Pittsburgh-born painter in his early 90s, is featured at Carnegie Museum today in the exhibition 'Flowers From a Black Garden'—a showcase of his long career—he spent many years in Oakland and is known for his masterful use of black. Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

- ➤ Parents and community members protested outside a Pittsburgh Public Schools meeting site to express concerns over school policies and demand more transparency—protestors said they want local officials to address issues affecting students. - ➤ The Penn Avenue extension in Wilkins and Turtle Creek will close between Aliquippa Street and Tri-Boro Expressway — the project will rebuild retaining walls, pavements, sidewalks, upgrade utilities and guide rails — with construction starting at 9 a.m. on July 7 and finishing in October. Traffic will detour via Graham Boulevard, William Penn Highway, Beulah Road, Brown Avenue and Tri-Boro Expressway while residents can still access their homes. WTAE
