- ➤ The Pittsburgh North Hills AARP Chapter 595 will donate 407 work gloves and an additional $100 to Hosanna Industries Inc.—a nonprofit that repairs and builds homes for those in need. The group will present the donation at Hosanna Industries’ July board meeting to support its volunteer-led projects. The Tribune-Review

- ➤ Police say 74-year-old Alphonso Sloan (seen on surveillance footage pacing near an elevator) attempted to stab several residents with an 8-inch chef’s knife at his Penn Avenue Lawrenceville apartment on Thursday and later surrendered to officers. WPXI
- ➤ A Pittsburgh man, 19-year-old Isreal Moseby, was arrested on criminal homicide charges after fatally shooting 52-year-old Samantha Howells in Crafton Heights following a ShotSpotter alert just before 4:30 a.m. on June 4—he is now held in Allegheny County Jail without bail. The Tribune-Review
- ➤ Police investigated after a man fatally shot in the chest drove into parked vehicles on the 500 block of Pittsburgh Street near Park Avenue in East McKeesport late Thursday night—20-year-old Keith Pelmon III was pronounced dead at the scene. The Tribune-Review

- ➤ Labor leaders, lawmakers and nurses rallied outside UPMC headquarters on Friday to demand fair treatment and a chance for all nurses to vote in union talks — they said UPMC is blocking charge nurses from voting while promising that legal processes with the NLRB and SEIU will decide eligibility.
