ENVIRONMENT NEWS

  • Pennsylvania American Water will begin replacing about 357 lead service lines in Pittsburgh and Mount Oliver Borough starting mid-June using a $1.6 million low-interest loan and a $3.3 million grant from the Pennsylvania Infrastructure Investment Authority. Contractors will canvas the 29th Ward starting June 16 and notify customers that replacing lead or galvanized lines comes at no cost.  CBS Pittsburgh

  • Today, Pittsburgh Regional Transit holds its final public comment hearing on proposed service cuts and fare hikes at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Room 302-304. Officials warn that the cuts—reducing overall service by 35% and ADA service by 62%—could leave many neighborhoods with less transit access as the community voices its concerns.  WTAE
