- ➤ American Legion Post 48 in Natrona has declined from more than 1,200 members to about 110 but still preserves a strong local tradition as members gather daily to share stories and keep the historic building active. - ➤ Firefighter crews responded at 10:30 p.m. Friday to a home on Hazel Avenue in Ambridge that was engulfed in flames—police are on scene and investigators are checking for any injuries. WTAE

- ➤ A McKees Rocks man pleaded guilty in federal court after investigators found child pornography on his devices and he tried to arrange a meeting with an undercover FBI agent posing as a 12-year-old girl—Ryan Peters, 35, will be sentenced on Nov. 12—facing a potential sentence of 10 years to life in prison and fines up to $250,000. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Megan Nagel, the regional chancellor, said that as Penn State New Kensington and Fayette wind down operations by the 2026-27 academic year, students, faculty and staff will receive personalized guidance—including support with degree completion and priority hiring—while Greater Allegheny remains active to meet regional workforce needs.
