- ➤ A house deep in Springdale Township caught fire Monday morning and neighbors rushed to help an elderly man off the porch as 10 fire crews and two strangers from a Memorial Day party quickly moved him to safety—firefighters controlled the blaze in 15 minutes while investigators looked into the cause. - ➤ Overnight car break-ins in two Pittsburgh neighborhoods shattered residents’ sense of security when vehicle windows were broken—authorities are investigating the incidents that occurred on May 26. WPXI

- ➤ 23-year-old Brendan Michael Parsons from McKeesport died from a gunshot wound after an argument broke out at a Clairton picnic on Sunday night near the 300 block of Division Street — police have detained a man. WTAE
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Pittsburgh Pride 2025 is set to be the most inclusive celebration yet with the theme YOUniting Diversity calling on everyone to stand together. The festival starts Friday with a Pride Prom and Kiki Ball at Allegheny Commons Park West—Saturday and Sunday will feature live music, over 300 vendors, and a noon parade in Downtown Pittsburgh with Grand Marshals Jeff Freedman and Lydia B. - ➤ A memorial ceremony was held aboard the USS Requin anchored along the Ohio River at Carnegie Science Center on May 26th to honor the submariners who lost their lives in duty (especially during World War II). WPXI
- ➤ Rich Engler, a legendary promoter who brought thousands of rock shows to Pittsburgh over 60 years, revealed his collection of 235 guitars, tickets, backstage passes and 13 gold and platinum records as he prepares to sell it—he also shared backstage stories like a $400,000 loss and a wild toga party for Axl Rose.
