ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A 12-year-old boy drowned Saturday in the Monongahela River in Donora while swimming with friends—Washington County Coroner S. Timothy Warco said divers began examining the scene. Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Police said a 14-year-old boy was shot multiple times in South Side Slopes just before 2:45 a.m. Sunday after a ShotSpotter alert, and he suffered gunshot wounds to his chin and chest before being taken to a hospital in critical but stable condition. WTAE
- ➤ Police in Crafton are asking for help finding 35-year-old Christian Spruill, who reportedly terrorized a local resident for a month by forcing her into his car and fleeing on foot after a crash on Saturday—officials say he is dangerous and may be armed. WTAE
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Derry Area High principal Kara Gardner has been selected as Greensburg Salem's acting assistant superintendent to fill the gap left by the resignation of the district’s human resources director earlier this year. Gardner, 36, will begin on July 1 while continuing at Derry Area for up to 60 days — she will oversee five principals and support staff development to improve district communication.
