ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A PennDOT truck was hit during little removal on I‑279 southbound near the Mt. Nebo exit on Saturday morning — part of Parkway North was shut down for about an hour before one lane reopened by 8:30 a.m. while Pennsylvania State Police investigated the incident.  WTAE
  • Most of southbound I-279 was closed on May 17th at 8:10 a.m.—a crash involving a PennDOT vehicle triggered the shutdown near Pittsburgh.  WPXI

CULTURE NEWS

  • VaultArt Studio in Bloomfield kicked off a busy season with nine in-house shows featuring work by artists with disabilities. The gallery is open from April to December—providing a new platform for local creative talent.  Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

  • Fans gathered on Friday night at Highmark Stadium to see the Riveters play their first game, which ended in a 0-0 draw against the Cleveland Force. Community members are excited by the addition of women’s soccer — the Riveters will host their next home game on May 30.  WTAE
  • During the Steelers’ Week 8 game against the Packers in 2023, tickets averaged $454+ driven by fan interest linked to Aaron Rodgers’ anticipated return, and reports noted he was set to sign with Pittsburgh.
