  • Allegheny County Police are searching for 19-year-old Ginger Bloomer from Castle Shannon who went missing after picking up an order at a local Sheetz and delivering it on Pocono Driver in Green Tree just after 5 a.m. on May 13; she is 5-foot-4, weighs 175 pounds and had red hair, hazel eyes, black shoes, black pants with a white Reebok logo, a camouflage jacket and a dark beanie (if anyone sees her, please call 911).  KDKA

ECONOMY NEWS

  • Union leaders and local officials in Downtown Pittsburgh urged lawmakers to raise Pennsylvania's minimum wage from $7.25 to $15 because many workers struggle to pay for rent and healthcare. The planned change would let local governments set higher wages and help more than 100,000 county workers — a move seen as key for supporting working families.  The Tribune-Review

FINANCE NEWS

  • State Treasurer Stacy Garrity said that over $4.5 billion in unclaimed money is owed to Pennsylvanians, with more than $400 million waiting in Allegheny County. Residents can search for old accounts, uncashed checks, and forgotten policies (by visiting the Treasury website’s Programs section) to reclaim funds (which include savings, insurance policies, and stocks).  WTAE

  • State Sen. Nick Pisciottano is leading a bipartisan effort with other lawmakers to draft a bill that would impose penalties and revoke licenses of funeral directors after Patrick Vereb from Vereb Funeral Home was charged in April with mishandling pet remains, leaving pet owners like Carrie White uncertain about the ashes they received.  WTAE

SPORTS NEWS

  • An independent investigation found that the Pirates chose to discard the Bucco Bricks from a 2024 sidewalk project rather than preserving or returning them to fans. The report explained that the bricks were removed, shrink-wrapped, and sent for recycling in Reserve Township—an option that disappointed many fans.  WTAE
  • The Pittsburgh Steelers will mark the Terrible Towel's 50th birthday this season + President Art Rooney II urged fans to prepare for special commemorative events.  WPXI
  • The Pittsburgh Steelers will play four primetime games in 2025, beginning with a road Thursday game against the Bengals in Week 7, a home Sunday night game against the Packers in Week 8, a trip to Los Angeles in Week 10 to face the Chargers, and a Monday night game against the Dolphins in Week 15—when they will also debut a new throwback uniform. The schedule also features five standalone games outside primetime, including an international match in Week 4 against the Vikings in Dublin at 9:30 ET and afternoon contests against the Bills and Lions—adding more national television exposure.  PennLive
