- ➤ Susan G. Komen's More Than Pink Walk will be held Sunday, May 17 in Schenley Park to unite survivors and supporters in a celebration that raises funds for breast cancer research and support while engaging the community with related activities. WTAE

- ➤ Duquesne student Gabe Pecar, (23), earned two bachelor’s degrees last Saturday at Gormley Student Union Ballroom and UPMC Cooper Fieldhouse for music and physics respectively. He was named Outstanding Student of the Year and will begin a Carnegie Mellon Ph.D. program this fall. WPXI

- ➤ The Department of Conservation and Natural Resources began targeted aerial treatments today to spray 3,100 acres against spongy moths while also treating 5,345 acres at Forbes State Forest against fall cankerworms using two helicopters to protect oak stands and stressed woodlands. WPXI
HEALTH NEWS
- ➤ A Pittsburgh woman is rebuilding her life after surviving sex trafficking while receiving support & resources from local organizations that focus on recovery. Her journey shows the ongoing community effort to promote survivor wellness. Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
- ➤ Allegheny Health Network spent $55M to boost its emergency services by introducing a state-of-the-art LifeFlight medical helicopter on Friday that will start service later in May (three more helicopters will join in coming years). WPXI

- ➤ Gabriel Nwosu, the 6-foot-6, 313-pound punter, attended the Steelers rookie minicamp this past weekend and impressed reporters with his confident self-introduction as a specialist from Penn State. His unique build sets him apart in his role with the team. WPXI
- ➤ The Pittsburgh Steelers added Jacoby Windmon to their rookie minicamp roster for a tryout on Saturday, after he was released by the Carolina Panthers (his former team). He will aim to secure a roster spot before offseason training begins on May 18. PennLive
- ➤ On Saturday, May 9, the Pirates secured a 13-3 win as Braxton Ashcraft pitched a gem and his team logged 20 hits against the Giants in San Francisco. WPXI
- ➤ On Sunday, the Giants rallied from two-run deficits to beat the Pirates 7-6 in 12 innings after Jesús Rodríguez hit an RBI single (his decisive play) to earn their third win in 12 games. CBS Pittsburgh
