- ➤ After Tuesday's storm left thousands without power, Giant Eagle will offer a 15% discount on all purchases at its Pittsburgh-area stores on Sunday, May 4. The discount applies at participating Allegheny, Beaver, Butler, Washington, Westmoreland, Greene, and Indiana County locations—exempting items such as milk, alcohol, fuel, tobacco, and prescription products, while automatically including curbside and delivery orders. - ➤ An intern at Vereb Funeral Home reported that her boss Patrick Vereb mishandled pet cremations by discarding tags and storing remains unsafely, which led state authorities to charge him with taking about $660,000 from customers + his arraignment is set for 2 p.m. on June 18 at the Allegheny County Courthouse. - ➤ Allegheny County inspectors checked gas pumps and deli scales at more than 400 stations to make sure customers got the correct amount for their money.
