SPORTS NEWS

  • Former Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin, who retired in January, announced on Sunday (Apr. 26) during an NBA Showtime pregame show with Maria Taylor that he will join NBC Sports' Football Night in America broadcast team this fall after 19 seasons with the team.  WPXI
  • At American Family Field on Saturday night, the Pirates fended off Brewers comeback attempts & won 6-3 in 10 innings with key hits from Spencer Horwitz and Nick Gonzales.  WPXI
  • Damar Hamlin is hosting a combine for kids at FNB Stadium to keep football fun alive in the Steel City. The event will offer drills and interactive sessions following the NFL Draft.  WPXI
  • The Penguins won 4 to 2 on Saturday night to keep their playoff run alive. They will face the Flyers on Monday night at PPG Paints Arena (only a few teams have come back from a three to zero deficit).  CBS Pittsburgh
  • Pittsburgh hosted the NFL draft over three days, drawing over 800,000 fans and setting an all-time attendance record (as noted by KDKA's Jessica Riley).  CBS Pittsburgh
