ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Crews from multiple Pittsburgh fire companies fought a large warehouse fire at the CleanCare facility on 51st Street in Lawrenceville today, with the blaze mostly knocked down by shortly after 11 a.m. & no injuries reported. The Tribune-Review
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ A man was shot in the Hill District early Saturday morning and is in critical condition according to a release from the Pittsburgh Department — police are investigating the incident. Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Survivors and family members of those killed in the Tree of Life synagogue shooting spoke to tenth grade students at Seneca Valley School District on Friday to stress the importance of unity and rejecting hate. Survivor Audrey Glickman (who hid during the Oct. 27 incident in Squirrel Hill that left 11 dead) urged the students to work together for a safer future. WTAE

- ➤ Carla and Ecco, the peregrine falcon pair nesting high on the Cathedral of Learning, welcomed their first two hatchlings on April 26—a sign of a promising start to their breeding season. WPXI

- ➤ The Pittsburgh Steelers selected Iowa defensive tackle Yahya Black in the fifth round of the NFL Draft—he visited the team before the draft and is expected to strengthen the run defense with his addition. PennLive
- ➤ Ohio State quarterback Will Howard joined the Pittsburgh Steelers and told NFL teams he will make them regret not picking him—he praised the team dinner with Coach Tomlin and others and said he will work hard even if he does not start immediately.
