  • Today, volunteers in McKees Rocks gathered to pick up trash & plant greenery as part of local NFL draft preparations that aim to beautify the area.  CBS Pittsburgh
  • On Tuesday, Apr. 21, 600 girls from Pittsburgh took part in a flag football clinic and CPR training hosted by the Off the Field NFL Wives Association and American Heart Association as part of NFL Draft celebrations, with organizers planning a Guinness World Record attempt for hand-only CPR training.  WTAE
  • During NFL Draft week, Taste of the Draft will bring together over 20 local restaurants, Pittsburgh Steelers alumni and community partners inside the Tower at PNC Plaza as chef Andrew Zimmern hosts a food event — supporting GENYOUth, which aims to expand school meal programs and feed local students.  PublicSource

  • Local natives Bret Michaels + KELS will perform free shows at the upcoming NFL Draft Entertainment Series in Pittsburgh on Thursday, Friday and Saturday, with Pittsburgh native Wiz Khalifa also set to perform during the week.  CBS Pittsburgh
  • Yesterday at 11 a.m., officials held a ribbon-cutting at Pittsburgh Zoo & Aquarium to unveil a new, accessible entrance with streamlined admission and updated restrooms.   • Student Government Board president Marley Pinsky and vice president Olivia Budike wrapped up their term by boosting student communication and advocacy with University administration (including plans to expand student legal services). HEALTH NEWS

  • Tuesday at Duquesne, NFL and youth groups launched a flag football in-school program and gave 91 schools $2,500 grants to buy nutrition equipment — part of an effort to boost physical and mental wellbeing. The NFL Draft starts Thursday.  The Tribune-Review
