- ➤ A vacant home behind Wolfe Avenue in North Braddock collapsed a few days ago, showing the blight on one of 1,040 parcels—officials will secure the wreckage within 24 hours to keep the area safe. Borough leaders said long-term decline from unpaid taxes and loss of steel mills have left many structures in disrepair, and they are working to find needed funds for demolition programs. WTAE

- ➤ Hitachi Energy is investing $70 million to expand three facilities in Westmoreland County and create over 100 new jobs while retaining nearly 300 more, with the state adding more than $329,000 to boost the Mount Pleasant plant—The project will include renovations, production line expansion and a new training center to modernize the facility. This investment aims to set an example for other companies considering growth in the area. WTAE

- ➤ A McKeesport man, Maurice Johnson, 26, allegedly stalked women at bars before stabbing one and assaulting another during a domestic dispute on the 1700 block of 3rd Avenue in Arnold early Saturday morning — he was taken into custody after a short foot pursuit, faces charges including attempted homicide, and the injured woman was taken to a Pittsburgh-area hospital. - ➤ Nine-year-old Cameron Fischer had his dream come true at Heinz Hall when he met PSO mascot Fiddlesticks. The young singer and percussionist, who first saw the mascot at age three, danced with joy as his mother Rhonda captured the moment - he described the experience as 11 out of 10. WTAE

- ➤ Two Carnegie Mellon students and five recent graduates had their student visas revoked Tuesday, and school officials said they provided legal support and privacy protection (they noted no immigration authorities have visited campus). The university will hold an immigration policy forum on April 21 at the Cohon University Center and will sponsor free 15-minute legal consultations the next day as registration opens the week of April 15.
