  • Fat Head’s Saloon—a beloved south-side bar for over 30 years—is closing on April 26, with a last call gathering for former staff and regulars scheduled on April 17.  PennLive
  • Finishing touches wrap up on the $7.5M project at Fallingwater, ensuring Frank Lloyd Wright’s design stays intact for decades. Tours resumed mid-March and state funding of $2.74M supported work on water infiltration and structural repairs near Bear Run (north of Ohiopyle).  The Tribune-Review

  • Heavy winds and rain last night toppled a shed and knocked down trees in North Huntingdon—damage is still being assessed. Flood warnings remain for parts of Beaver, Butler, Lawrence, and Washington Counties today as Impact Days continue.  WTAE

HEALTH NEWS

  • Allegheny Valley Hospital in Harrison will host a flag-raising ceremony on Tuesday, Apr. 7 to raise awareness about organ donations as part of National Donate Life Month. The public event begins at 11 a.m. at the hospital-front entrance.  The Tribune-Review

  • At Vartabedian Field Tuesday night, the Pitt softball team came from behind to secure an 8-7 walk-off win over Penn State, scoring six runs in the final inning; the team now heads into a three-game series against Syracuse.  WPXI
  • Pittsburgh Steelers team president Art Rooney II said that after Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier challenged the NFL's use of the Rooney Rule in a letter to NFL commissioner Roger Goodell, the league will keep the rule unchanged & he plans to speak with Uthmeier soon to clarify the process.  PennLive
  • State waters open trout season Saturday at 8 a.m. until Labor Day, with 3.2 million trout stocked—including trophy-sized fish—for anglers. Licensing and daily catch limits apply to help maintain safe fishing.  WPXI
