- ➤ After a two-year project, Frick Park now has a fully accessible section with wide paved paths and a mud kitchen that serve wheelchair users and families. The Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony on May 15—an event set to celebrate this historic upgrade. WTAE
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ PRT board members will meet soon to discuss proposed service reductions and fare increases — changes that could affect riders in Pittsburgh. They will review the proposals and consider the potential impact on transit service. CBS Pittsburgh
- ➤ PennDOT announced that 57 new transportation projects will begin later this year in the Pittsburgh region, improving 551 miles of roadway and 43 bridges in Allegheny, Beaver and Lawrence counties at an investment of over $537 million. The projects include work on Route 22/30 over Interstate 376 Parkway West Interchange and Route 2114 McKeesport Duquesne Bridge preservation — officials detailed — to enhance travel safety.
