- ➤ The Bethel Park Police Department launched a new program on Saturday to help shelter animals find forever homes by naming Leo, a 7-month-old pitbull-boxer mix from Angel Ridge Animal Rescue, an honorary K9 officer for a day. The department hopes that his participation on a community patrol—where he learned to use a fire extinguisher—will bring more attention to animals in need. WPXI

- ➤ Police arrested Kaylynn Lucas on Pressley St in East Allegheny at 8:18 p.m. on Friday after she stabbed a woman and tried to suffocate her by placing a plastic bag over her head—she now faces charges of attempted homicide, aggravated assault, and strangulation. WPXI
