- ➤ Herschend is set to acquire Kennywood, Idlewild and Sandcastle from Palace Entertainment and will take over operations without making immediate changes + plans include training new employees and exploring enhancements while keeping guest experiences steady. The sale is not yet complete and the company will work closely with park teams as it finalizes the transition. WPXI

- ➤ A man was charged with arson in connection with a house fire in Millvale — authorities are reviewing the case. CBS Pittsburgh
- ➤ The search for Sudiksha Konanki continues as her parents asked Dominican authorities to file a declaration of death after an extensive search indicated she is believed to have drowned on March 6 at a Punta Cana beach—police are investigating the last person seen with her, who remains in custody without evidence of foul play. - ➤ County Executive Sara Innamorato, Deputy Mayor Jake Pawlak, and Partner4Work CEO Rob Cherry announced that applications for the Learn & Earn Summer Youth Employment Program are now open through June 6, offering 1,000 spots for local youth to gain work experience. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ PennDOT has begun the second season of construction on I-376 from Rodi Road to the Pennsylvania Turnpike to resurface the road, improve bridge transitions, and replace a declining median for more than 70,000 daily drivers. Crews will change traffic to one lane per direction starting Friday at 9 p.m., with 11-foot lanes in place as the outbound bridge wraps up in late July and work shifts to the inbound side into the fall. - ➤ A court in Allegheny County ruled in a conservatorship case on March 4th that awarded control of a Park Hill Drive property in East Hills to a private developer—rejecting nonprofit Rising Tide Partners’ plan to oversee the property. - ➤ Developer Todd Meyer filed for conservatorship of an abandoned Boyle Street property in Pittsburgh’s North Side to fix it for affordable rentals—nonprofit Rising Tide Partners intervened and now appeals after a judge granted the case to Meyer based on his clear plans.
