COMMUNITY NEWS

  • A group of Irwin-area Catholics petitioned borough officials to rename an alley behind Immaculate Conception Church as 'Father John Way' to honor Rev. John Moineau, who served the parish for nearly 20 years and died last Oct. 25. Officials are reviewing the renaming request with Public Safety + GIS.  The Tribune-Review
  • Dozens of trees marked with signs near Acrisure Stadium will be removed from the North Shore by the end of March to meet public safety and infrastructure needs for the NFL Draft. The Pittsburgh Parks Conservancy will work with the city and VisitPittsburgh to relocate them.  KDKA
  • Roots of Faith (which has served Sharpsburg for 12 years) bought the three-story building at 800 Main St for about $1 million to create affordable housing and continue free services, with construction set to begin in weeks.  The Tribune-Review
