ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A sinkhole closed Elmwood Drive (between Elfinwild Lane and 161 Elmwood Drive) in Shaler Township on Feb. 19 at 9:32 a.m., and officials have not determined how long the closure will last.  WPXI

  • The Shapiro Administration awarded $28 million in tax credits to support filming of the final season of 'Mayor of Kingstown' in and around Pittsburgh, a move expected to inject $107 million in spending, create 1,749 jobs, and secure 5,600 hotel nights as filming returns in March.  WPXI
  • Gov. Shapiro’s latest budget estimates the data center tax break could cost the state $188 million this fiscal year and reach $517 million by mid-2031 as lawmakers debate its future. Rep. Vitali has introduced a bill to end the break for companies like Amazon + Microsoft.  The Tribune-Review

  • Three Rivers Waterkeeper is concerned about over 80,000 parts per trillion of PFAS chemicals discharged at Pittsburgh International Airport (PIT) and warns of potential risks to nearby water systems.
