  • On Friday night, a 48-inch water main burst in front of the Elrama Volunteer Fire Department, damaging fire trucks and gear, and crews worked Monday morning to clear debris while a replacement substation will open soon to maintain emergency services.  WTAE

ECONOMY NEWS

  • More than 200 Pittsburgh-area businesses filed for bankruptcy in 2025, a slight drop from 2024's filings, according to U.S. Bankruptcy Court data. The filings included 231 cases with 119 Chapter 7 & 98 Chapter 11 cases, and 61 filings in western Pennsylvania during the final quarter of 2025.  WPXI

  • Nearly 100,000 Pennsylvania American customers in Washington and Allegheny counties are still under a boil water advisory due to a massive water main break in Elrama (Friday night).  CBS Pittsburgh
  • State Rep. Emily Kinkead said she will introduce the Prescription Drug Copay Fairness Act this week at the Capitol to require insurers to count manufacturer rebates toward patients’ deductibles—an effort supported by bipartisan lawmakers to ease costs for those with chronic illnesses.  CBS Pittsburgh

  • The Pittsburgh Pirates will sign veteran slugger Marcell Ozuna on a one-year deal worth $12 million pending a physical, adding a left-handed bat to improve their lineup.
