  • United Way is scheduling free in-person tax preparation appointments at various sites in five counties through mid-April. Qualifying residents (individuals earning up to $50K and households up to $70K) can also use secure online software for returns if their income is up to $89K.  WPXI

  • A barn fire at a historic Washington County farm killed animals yesterday and officials said details on the number and type remain unknown.  WPXI

BUSINESS NEWS

  • Downtown Pittsburgh is getting a makeover for the NFL Draft as Market Square, empty storefronts, sidewalks and lighting are being upgraded to welcome more than 500,000 visitors from April 23 to 25. The work should boost local businesses + encourage repeat visits long after the draft ends.  The Tribune-Review

  • Heavy snowfall from a storm last week is expected to persist on Pittsburgh streets for several more weeks while the National Weather Service warns that sun and above-freezing temperatures—needed for fast melting—will only come by mid February.  CBS Pittsburgh

  • Pittsburgh Water announced that lead pipe replacements and infrastructure upgrades will begin this year in Bloomfield, Shadyside, Highland Park, and Central Lawrenceville, aiming to improve water quality and ensure safer service.  Pittsburgh Post-Gazette

  • Pitt was overmatched by No. 17-ranked Virginia in a blowout loss during their road game in Charlottesville, Va. Their offensive struggles, which began in Clemson, S.C., persisted in this matchup.  Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
  • NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell said the league hopes to return to Ireland in the coming years after the Steelers hosted the 2025 game that set records by drawing 7.9 million viewers + his comment was made during the state of the NFL news conference ahead of the Super Bowl.  WPXI
  • Senior Bobby Fadden led Mohawk to beat Aliquippa, earning the team their third section title and likely the No.1 seed in the WPIAL playoffs.  Pittsburgh Post-Gazette
  • The NFL, VisitPITTSBURGH and the Steelers unveiled renderings for a two-site 2026 NFL Draft campus. The campus will include a Draft Theater near Acrisure Stadium on the North Shore and a fan festival at Point State Park, with the event scheduled for April 23-25.  WPXI
