About this event
Step beyond the ropes and venture Behind Closed Doors: The Hidden Spaces of Old Economy Village.
On Wednesday, November 4th from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., explore the attics, basements, and upper floors normally off limits to the public. Wander through the multi level Granary, climb into the attic above the Feast Hall, and peek into the behind the scenes areas inside the Visitor Center.
You’ll encounter artifacts pulled straight from our storage: pottery, household implements, and everyday objects that once supported Harmonist life. In our archives, discover rare glimpses into the community’s inner world — music manuscripts, George Rapp’s sermons, Articles of Agreement, drawings, and well used schoolbooks. Then step into our textile and painting storage to see linens, samplers, and artwork preserved for generations.
This is your chance to see Old Economy Village as the Harmonists did — from the inside out. Hidden spaces. Rare artifacts. Extraordinary stories.
Come uncover what history left behind.
