About this event
Mysore style yoga is the traditional method in which Ashtanga Yoga is taught and learned. Mysore is NOT a led class; rather, students arrive during the allotted class time, allowing enough time to complete their Ashtanga Yoga practices before class closes. The students move through their own practices while the teacher walks around the room and provides individual verbal instruction. It is like a private yoga class in a group setting! Plan to arrive within the first hour of class. There is no prerequisite to take this class.....just come on in and we will teach you from the very beginning. If you are new to Mysore and/or the Ashtanga Yoga method, this class is a great way to get started in a comfortable environment with other students new to the method as well. Traditionally, postures are “given” to the student in a set sequence by the teacher. Mysore is the hands down the best way to learn the Ashtanga yoga method. Through self-practice and individual instruction, you will become more aware of both the limitations and the possibilities in your body, mind, and personal practice. If you are unsure as to whether to start Mysore class, please send us a note and we will discuss openly and happily with you!
